Pare is a Los Angeles based design and manufacturing firm led by Peter De Jong. With the collection at Pare, Peter harkens back to a time when craftspeople took pride in their work and provide elegant, essential, and most importantly functional items to be used daily. Items that are made by hand and designed for a purpose. Influenced by the life and work of Norman Potter, Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari, Hans Wegner, Tage Frid, George Nakashima, Wharton Esherick, and many more that came before us.

Peter studied contemporary art and sculpture while in school under the tutelage of Robert Hobbs, Samford Biggers, Michael Jones Mckean, and Elizabeth King. Peter’s early fine woodworking lineage can be traced back to Edward Barnsley, a leader of the British Art’s and Crafts movement at the turn of the previous century. Now Peter is a master craftsman who works with many materials and his designs are sought after worldwide. He has worked over the years with designers such as Lawson-Fenning, Heath Ceramics, Spartan (Portland), Athena Calderone, BDDW, Stahl & Band and many more.
